Students’ Scientific Association
The aim of the Students’ Scientific Association is to facilitate the involvement of students in theoretical and practical research work that goes beyond the compulsory curriculum. The work is carried out individually or collectively, under the mentoring of a university lecturer (consultant). The consultant usually determines the topic of the research, but the student can also contact his consultant by asking him to write a scientific topic. To present the results of the students’ scientific work, the university organizes a conference, at which the authors of the best papers receive a valuable reward. The first-prize papers are published and participate in the biennial National Students’ Scientific Conference.
In addition to intellectual and financial success, participation in students’ scientific work brings many advantages:
- The thesis is usually continued in the thesis,
- Complements the resume and helps with employment,
- Gives an opportunity to improve presentation skills,
- It is an advantage when applying for masters and postgraduate (doctoral) training.
Students’ Scientific Association activities at our university look back on fine traditions. In 2013, Dennis Gabor University won the right to host the IT Section of the National Students’ Scientific Conference. Our aim remains to preserve the previous values and to support the professional development of our successful students.
This year, the Students’ Scientific Conference of Dennis Gabor University will be held on December 19, 2023.
