Scientific projects

The aim of the project is to raise awareness of information security, as the rapid development of ICTs not only creates digital wealth, but can also contribute to the well-being and comfort of the civilian population. However, information technology also poses a huge risk if not used consciously, so special attention must be paid to strengthening the digital immunity of users. Raising awareness of information security among the civilian population, in addition to strengthening their own security, goes hand in hand with increasing the level of national security of the state concerned and reducing the exposure of critical infrastructures.

Based on this, the research will study and assess the current situation and propose development strategies, including an educational package that could be integrated into the higher education system.

The project aims to improve the digital technology and methodology of higher education, and to provide a methodological framework for the effective embedding of digital education through research and the development of usable practices. Within the framework of the DOKK, the MODIKA (Modern Digital Knowledge Acquisition) project is being implemented. Its aim is to support modern digital knowledge acquisition by using state-of-the-art methods to develop digital courses, content and curricula for a range of age groups, disciplines and cultures. The project will also pay particular attention to the provision of individual learning pathways according to the needs of the individual. This will be done in a research context combining social science and information technology research methods and traditions.

The project has three main objectives: (1) to develop online training using digital teaching methods, (2) to increase motivation for students to complete the training and (3) to develop digital competences. The GDE's project aims to develop two toolkits/resources; two assessment guides; two pilot e-learning courses; collect student feedback; and to prepare and make available the final format of two courses.
