Scientific seminar
Scientific seminar
The Scientific Seminar follows the traditions already established at the Dennis Gabor University. At the Scientific Seminar, the outstanding scientific researchers, lecturers, colleagues and talented students of our university present their research results. On the scientific seminar, there are occasional thematic presentations with the participation of invited guest speakers.
We welcome all university citizens to the seminar!
Date: 25th May 25, 2023, 14:30-16:15
Location: Gabor Denes room, Dennis Gabor University
Lecturer: Dr. Attila József Kovács habil, Vice Dean of International Relations, Head of Department, Associate Professor at Albert Kázmér Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of Széchenyi István University in Mosonmagyaróvár, Department of Biological Systems and Precision Technology
The Department of Biological Systems and Precision Technology (and its legal predecessors) Faculty of Albert Kázmér Mosonmagyaróvár at University of Győr, was the first and has been taking a leading role at the national level in the field of testing, technical development, and related scientific research of precision plant cultivation technologies. This area is also undergoing a paradigm shift, as with many other industries. At our research site, we started developing our agricultural IoT systems more than five years ago: by deploying dozens of measuring stations (soil, plants, microclimate, etc.) and collecting continuous, frequent data. These include testing different data transmission technologies (LoRaWAN, GSM, NN-IoT, Zigbee, etc.), building databases ("Big-Data"), etc. One of the important directions of data collection was the study and development of various remote sensing techniques. In addition to deployed stations and remotely sensed data collection, applications of partially or fully autonomous agricultural data collection robots have recently gained an increasing role. During the presentation, we briefly describe the above-mentioned activities, through which we can achieve the goal of sustainable agriculture.
Lecturer: Ákos Erős, IT engineering student, Dennis Gabor University
As with all service processes, it is essential to properly check the device before handing it over to the customer when repairing smartphones. For quality control purpose, it may be worthwhile to perform radio frequency tests on the repaired devices with the help of a special measuring instrument. With this, the main antenna system of a phone, as well as its
call initiation and reception and mobile Internet capabilities, can be well checked. Carrying out such instrumental tests presents several challenges. One of these is the possible amortization of the instrument fleet and the periodic maintenance of the radio frequency profiles. In my presentation, I will present a software solution that tries to provide a solution to these challenges. I will describe the entire life cycle of a thick client application, which can be said to be rare these days. Starting from the trigger factor in 2018, through the version that was already regularized in 2020, up to the expanded program that is still in use in 2023. The aim of my presentation is to point out how a rudimentary attempt was made into a complete software solution that can effectively support the daily work of a radio frequency test department.
